Weird problem … I enter my account name and password … I log in successfully … server status seem “good” … I select the server and here is what it says: “Access failed. Please try again later …” Hmmm, why? This never happened before, not to me anyways. 🙂

OK, no idea what is actually happening! (sorry for double post)
My Hyperion character is actually online. I logged in with my spoiler account and I see him standing in Giran. When I click him it says “Private store under why.” There however is no store under why – he is just standing there, doing nothing.

This is a known (but uncommon) bug. So far the only solution is a server restart, which will be happening soon anyway.
Can you tell me exactly what happened before this? What did you do before you logged out? Any information can help track this down.
As promised, am reporting again everything that has happened.
I opened private SELL store in Giran, selling 1 Thons for 100kk adena, with message “Need me? PM Arienna!” cause I was spoiling with her for the next 30 minutes or so.
After that time I switched back to Hyperion, click Open Sell Store button again, Hyperion stood up and the Sell window opened … but while that was happening, I got disconnected from the server.
As I tried to re-log in I first got the message “The account is already in use.” and then as I tired again I logged in normally, got to the server selection window and as I pressed OK, when selecting the server, the message “Access failed. Try again later.” popped up.
“And that as they say is that.” I thought at first it was something wrong with the server, but then I logged my spoiler in normally and found my main character standing in Giran … was a sweet little shock for me. And the rest … you already know. 🙂

Well, this bug is getting kinda more and more common! Got “stuck in the moment” again … this time with my spoiler and in totally different situation:
I was walking from our CH towards the GK in Aden … while taking the path I have taken so many times before – mega freeze!!! Arienna is now standing near Aden’s GK, doing absolutely nothing and there is also nothing I can do to get her account logged in again. (read: Access failed!)
As you can see a completely different situation with the same “bug result”.
I am wondering … does this phenomena has anything to do with multi-boxing? Is there a limit on how many clients can be open from one IP?
Would be extremely happy if we can get a server restart today to fix my “Arienna problem” cause I have oh so many things to spoil and oh so little time to do it!

Sorry, I’ve been rather busy and only just got the time to check up on things.
You mean you were just walking and the character froze? Did anyone else experience the freeze or was is just Arienna? Approximately what time did this happen so I can check the server logs?
There’s no IP limit whatsoever.
Unless the server automatically restarts, I’d rather not have a restart until I look into this issue a bit further. Let me know as soon as possible.
EDIT: Final and most important question: Do you have an anti-virus on your PC? If so, can you check if it blocks /system/fire.dll?
I had 4 boxes opened. My main character, BD, SWS and Arienna. The only character that experienced the freeze was Arienna, and yes, she was just walking towards GK in Aden (not doing anything else at all). This happened about 15 minutes before I have written this last post: (July 14, 2014 at 7:03 pm)
I have no special anti-virus on my PC. Everything is the same for the past year or so on my computer.
If server does not get restarted, my clan is stuck in the moment. Arienna is wearing Hyperion’s jewels so this makes Hyperion a bit less useful even if I decide just to play with him till server restarts … but the main problem is that Arienna is clan spoiler and on the same account we also have a clan crafter and a low level spoiler. We have now been handicapped for almost two days … we NEED a server restart!

I have found logs from both Hyperion and Arienna. They both show that they sent some bad packets, and therefore the characters are getting in that lockdown state. This makes sense, as you used both from the same computer. Since this has happened twice in a row for you, I would guess that something is messing with your computer (either a virus, or an anti-virus deleting files).
Until I tweak the security feature, I would suggest trying a different computer, running a virus scan (Microsoft Security Essentials is MS’s free AV), and finally trying a different network.
Server’s restarted, but please try my suggestions to avoid this.
Silentz0r thank you very much. I really need to look into this. I find it extremely weird that this is happening to me. What kind of bad packets are being sent (something like virus attack)? I’ll run full anti-virus scan today when I come back home.
Do not know what I’ll do if this happens to me again. Really need to find permanent solution to this problem.

On our end there’s not much to help you with – we can just speculate around what’s wrong. I mean, I can’t know how or why you’re sending bad packets for sure, but I do know that when you send them the server takes security measures against them.
Generally, bad packets are sent when people are using external programs that interfere with L2 trying to Bot or Hack, so I have no idea how this can be happening on your system. UNLESS :O (j/k lol)
After the Virus scan finishes let me know if it blocked any files in the L2 directory (or any other items – even irrelevant).
Without you even mentioning this … I already felt/feel like a damn criminal aka Bot Biatch aka Hacker … I will perform a full system scan, but if nothing is found I honestly do not know what to do. There is nothing I can do to prove you I am not using any shit materials to harm your server in any way.
Well … lets wait and see what happens …

If the scan comes clean and this happens again, you can always try using a different computer and see if this happens again.
Security-wise, I will add a custom feature to this to kick the players when this occurs, maybe even ban the account for a few minutes in case it’s a hacker trying to flood the server with bad packets (relax, this doesn’t apply to you :p )
